Every fall and winter, the misery begins in horse country. As soon as it rains persistently for a few days, panic breaks out. Suddenly your horse is standing up to its knees in mud. "Help, my paddock has turned into a mud puddle, what now?" is then the most frequently asked question. But by then it's actually too late! Mud prevention should be done before winter begins but in this E-book you will also find guidance what to do if you are sinking in mud NOW.

"Laura has a pleasant and enthusiastic way of conveying information. She is very skilled in her profession and knows how to effectively communicate what is important for the well-being of horses and nature. Highly recommended!"
A muddy living environment is a nightmare for you as an owner. Above all, it is extremely detrimental to the health of your horse. Added to that, poor mud management leads to deterioration of soil quality and landscape degradation, even reducing economic value.
As a result, many horses spend a significant part of their lives in boring, confined spaces such as sand paddocks and stables. Under such conditions, they develop health problems and behavioral disorders. Think obesity due to lack of exercise, ulcers from limited roughage, and learned helplessness due to lack of autonomy and social contact.
Every compromise you make in the horse's living environment causes stress to a greater or lesser extent. This affects the horse's resilience in dealing with stress. The more we deviate from their natural habitat, the less we can expect our horse to behave as we would like.
But performing and well-being can go hand in hand. When you design your property in such a way that you can provide movement and more freedom of choice while remaining mud-free. That is what I want for all horse owners so that more horses can have a worthy living environment. That is why I have written this e-book about:
Mud problems
Influences on soil compaction
How horses can promote grassland
Techniques to prevent mud
Better water management
Mud protocol
acres of nature-inclusive horse housing
Horse owners inspired
years working as a landscape designer

"Laura is full of knowledge and passion when it comes to plants and horses. Her enthusiasm is contagious and inspiring. I've had multiple advice sessions that always provide new insights, but especially practical tips. Laura has an eye for detail, but the horse's well-being is paramount. Additionally, the courses at 'The Equine Landscaper' are highly recommended. This course enables you to make well-considered choices and continuously enrich your horse's environment."

"I recently did a session with Laura where we discussed my own plan to convert our pasture into a (mini) paddock paradise. I got so many useful tips and fun ideas, it was really very valuable. Laura brings not only a lot of knowledge but also a lot of creativity. In short, highly recommended if you want to optimize your horses' living space."

"I have attended several courses/information days with Laura: extremely inspiring. Laura has a lot of knowledge about the design of 'horse gardens': what you need to consider in terms of planting, layout and maintenance. She shares this knowledge in an accessible way. In addition, just walking through her horse garden is a gift in itself. So, if you are considering offering your horses a foraging paradise (or at least enriching your paddock ;)), it is definitely worth getting advice here."
